DESCRIPTION
The Rukeri Tea Estate is located in northwestern Rwanda, a small country in central Africa between Uganda, Tanzania and Congo. It has been the first to produce whole-leaf and organic teas in Rwanda since 2014, in a humid climate at an altitude between 1500-2000 meters.
This black tea is markedly reminiscent of the notes of a High Grown black tea from Ceylon.
The Fairtrade Certified company is involved in numerous social initiatives to support local people. It has helped build schools, establish a clinic, and initiated an adult literacy program that for the first time taught more than 15,000 adults how to read and write in their native language.
