DESCRIPTION
Finely ground green tea powder like Matcha, but unlike the latter which remains a deep green color, it is roasted and has a chocolate brown color. It has an intense aroma and is very versatile in its use in cooking. Matcha Houjicha can become a cappuccino with very enveloping nutty notes or can be used in both sweet and savory doughs. Matcha Houjicha is prepared by dissolving, not infusing. Pour the powder into a bowl. Add water at the right temperature and then stir vigorously with the traditional bamboo whisk (the chasen).
