Gyokuro

Considered Japan's finest tea, it is grown in the Miyazaki area. The main characteristic of this tea is that during the last 20-30 days before harvest, the plantation is completely covered by cloths that keep the plants in shade. This causes a decrease in the catechin content present in the leaves, thus dramatically reducing the astringency and bitterness effect typical of some green teas.
