DESCRIPTION
The cultivar "Benifuki," created in the 1960s in Kagoshima, was obtained by crossing the cultivars "Benihomare" and "MakuraCd86." The cultivar "Benihomare" is of the Assamica variety, while "MakuraCd86" is of the sinensis variety. From the Indian variety it inherited leaves suitable for processing as an oxidized tea, precisely to offer a full-bodied, highly aromatic tea in the cup, with sweet malty notes and a pleasant liveliness.
