Osmanthus oolong is naturally scented with flowers of the Osmanthus. The already somewhat sweet oolong itself thus forms a nice combination with the osmanthus flowers. Osmanthus is a sweet smelling tea and it tastes the same, without being overpowering. A widely sold tea.
In November 2017, I visited Fujian province in China. In the search for some traditional houses, we passed by an Osmanthus tree! A nice experience because now I could smell for myself what osmanthus tea is supposed to taste like. Fortunately, the smell of the tree matched the smell of the osmanthus tea that I have been choosing for the past few years. It was a huge tree and all the neighborhood smells like osmanthus. We took some branches to put in the car and for the rest of the vacation, the car smelled like osmanthus.
