A shiboridashi (絞り出し) is a palm-sized, "handle" or earless tea-making utensil designed for relatively slow and cooler water temperature tea-making.
Literally translated as "to squeeze", shiboridashi are known for "squeezing" all the flavours out of shaded Japanese teas, notably gyokuro and kabusecha, as well as the natural umami of premium sencha. It exudes a refined elegance, beautiful craftsmanship and harmonious decoration.
The Shiboridashi's size is 10 cm in diameter, give or take 2-3 mm, and the capacity is 70 ml, give or take 2-3 ml.
Handmade product - Please note that the teapot pictured and the one we send you will be different. This occurs because each piece is unique and slightly different from each other. Large - The handiwork of Ágnes György, each Shiboridashi teapot is a distinct individual, no two are alike. Thanks to the work of human hands.
How-to-care-for-your-shiboridashi-teapot?
As some of this product is made of unglazed clay, please dry it well after use and to avoid mould, do not leave tea leaves in the pot overnight or even put the lid back on tightly until it is completely dry.
After steeping, rinse with water and avoid using soap or detergents as they can seep into the clay. It goes without saying, but just in case (don't put it in the dishwasher or microwave.)
