Tokoname Jug for all types of tea

A handcrafted product from the Tokoname region of Japan, with a 230ml capacity. Ushirode kyusu is the name given to jugs that have the handle "on the back", and Yokode is the name given to side-faced kyusos.

This is not the most common form in Japan, but is popular in Taiwan and China in the various Yixing jugs and the famous jugs of the Jingge region. In Japan, the side-seat type of pot is popular, with a large filter that allows really fast and efficient filtration of rather finely rolled, delicate green teas. However, foreign oolongs are also consumed in Japan, as we do, and they are suited to the right pot shape.

Here is a traditional hand-discounted traditional pot shape from the Tokoname region, with a not exactly traditional finish.
It's ideal for any type of tea, really.
I'd say it's a perfect match for roasted or green oolongs, white teas or reds.

Rinse with warm water before first use, and every time you make tea to preheat the pot. Unglazed clay ceramic teapots that retain the properties of the type of tea made in them. It is therefore advisable to always use an unglazed earthenware pot for the same type of tea. For example, for green teas, oolong teas, roasted or more oxidized teas.

The fine filter of the pot, also made of clay, is made of very small holes. If a small tea leaf gets stuck when cleaning, it's a good idea to let the water stream into the spout of the pot, which typically solves this issue.

Clean the pot every time you have a cup of tea, and don't leave your tea in it for too long. Do not put them in the dishwasher or any drying machine, and do not use detergent to clean them.
If you are very upset that the tea stains the outside of the pot after a while, you may want to wipe the outside of the pot with a baking soda solution dissolved in water, but do not touch the inside.

Capacity: 230 ml, ideal for 1 to 3 people.

For example, for those who find it difficult to use gaiwan and typically drink one type of tea, any of our Tokoname Japanese teas may be an ideal choice.
