Avongrove means bird's nest. Avongrove Tea Estate is located on the banks of the Balason River. Here about 18400 acres grow only tea. 60% Of the tea bushes are clones, 20% are hybrids and the last 20% is Assam. The plantation was built in 1998 and produces 60-70 tons of tea per year, there is a water source that can supply the whole plantation with enough water all year round. 500 Workers live on this plantation to do all the work throughout the year and hand pick and process the tea at the right time. Avongrove Tea Estate is registered as an organic tea plantation in the different continents including Europe. This means that all tea is grown without the use of pesticides and natural compost is used
