In the farthest eastern province of Nepal, beautiful organic tea is produced! Ilam is the province that matters in high quality teas worldwide.
In a central tea factory, leaves are collected from the more than 600 different smallholders (smallholders) in the region. The soil, climate and altitude here are ideal for producing this beautiful orthodox tea. The tea grows here at an altitude of about 1700m.
Thea farmers are all being trained so that a consistently good quality tea is produced and the tea brings in more money.
This cooperative is supported by SNV, a global organization that supports in agriculture, energy and water/hygiene to ensure that incomes go up by realizing practical know how and local solutions.
Here is a so-called cows project. In this, farmers were given cows. The manure is used as a soil conditioner instead of chemicals and the cows produce milk.
The leaves are full of tiny downy hairs and unfold in water into tiny leaves, soft green and very delicate
