Beautiful tiny Chinese tea leaves with a full-bodied sweet fragrance!
These teas are the smallest tips of the oolong variety Xiao Cai Cha. They come from the high mountains of Zheng He, in Fujian province. The newest soft fragile first green leaves have a characteristic aroma of beans and chestnut.
These leaves are picked in early spring (this year on March 29).The tea trees are about 40 years old and are in the tea garden of Cindy Chen and her husband's family. The tea plant is a local native plant in Zheng He.
The tea leaves are a beautiful dark green color, the infusion has a light yellow-green color with a fresh, vegetal, gently roasted umami fragrance.
The flavor is nicely balanced between savory umami, and sweet creamy and gives a nice smooth miond feel.
When brewed with a Gaiwan, the delicious sweet, fresh tea smell of newly processed leaves already rises upon brewing! Full, smooth with an almost creamy mouthfeel, this tea surprises all your senses.
