This Wuyuan Jasmin is characterized by its delicate Jasmine fragrance.
This China Wuyuan Jasmin tea has a beautiful dry leaf. The base for this tea is a Chun Mee. The dry leaves are beautiful, slightly curled.
The color varies from dark, almost blue/black leaves with some green and yellow/brown leaves mixed in. The fragrance of Jasmine is light and soft.
The tea gets this beautiful fragrance by layering jasmine blossoms over the dried tea leaves. These remain for a few hours and are replaced by fresh Jasmine blossoms. This up to about 7 times.
For 50 kilograms of tea, as many as 150 kilograms of Jasmine blossom petals are used. Finally, all the flowers are removed from the tea.
This process therefore makes this tea more expensive than teas to which an artificial Jasmine aroma is added.
