White Veil Shirahime - Hoshino Seichaen

Hoshino Seichaen's White Veil Shirahime is named after the famous manga figure Snow Goddess or Snow Goddess (Shirahime 白 姫 抄). This special tea was created through a natural mutation in the Hoshitea Valley. It is a light green bud that then develops a yellowish-white leaf with an elegant, soft and sweet taste. This is the reason why it is also called natural Gyokuro. We do not think it is a Gyokuro; in fact, we cannot compare it to any kind of tea. Once the package is opened the scent emanating from it is very strong, the appearance of the tea is at least surprising, the taste is that of a full, lingering, sweet white tea. Then from infusion to infusion it approaches that of a more raw white.

Yellow-white leaf variants are already well known, but their cultivation is still quite limited. Besides Anji Bai Cha, there are few other teas of this type.

This tea won a gold medal at the World Green Tea Competition 2021

Preparation

We recommend preparing it like a Sencha.

Use 7-8 grams of the product and minimally mineralized water, with a fixed residue of no more than 50 mg/l, at 60-70 °C and a preheated teapot of small volume (150-250 ml).

Prepare 1-minute infusions, three of which will give you richly flavored infusions, while the subsequent ones will be milder and sweeter. As the infusions go on, use increasingly hot water until you reach a temperature of 90-95°C.

Please note! After opening and use, keep tightly closed, in a container in the refrigerator at 5°C. To be consumed within 6 to 8 months after first use.
