The Common Chashaku (茶杓) is one of the basic utensils for making Matcha. It is used in the tea ceremony as an accessory that has the function of putting the Matcha from its container into the Chawan (cup used especially for this tea).

For its making in the past, different materials were used, such as mulberry wood, bamboo or silver. The most popular version of it today is made of bamboo, a material also used for the production of the Chasen, the whisk used in the preparation of Matcha. This creation was designed by Sen no Rikyū (千利休, 1522-1591).

The price shown refers to Chashaku only and not also to the Matcha featured in the photo.
