Hojicha Omi Hand-Baked
The hand-baked Hojicha Omi tea comes from the Asamiya region, is grown in the misty Shiga Mountains and harvested in autumn. It is a tea made with extreme care, as the tea leaf stems are lightly roasted and cooked in small portions, strictly by hand.
It does not taste unpleasant, overly smoky or roasted. It is light, refreshing, calms the body with the help of its L-theanine and pyrazines. Great to drink after meals or in the evening after dinner.
We had the honor of introducing you in our online store to numerous teas from Seiseido, a manufacturer that surprises us every time with its extremely well-curated products of the highest quality. The Hojicha
The Hojicha consists ofstems and leaves baked at high temperatures at 180 °C until the tea acquires its deep brown color. The gourmet Hojicha, on the other hand, are roasted at 130-150 °C for about 15-20 minutes. This roasting creates the roasted aroma of the Hojicha.
This method of production does not affect its health benefits, butburns off the bitterness and caffeine instead. In fact, 250 ml of Hojicha contains about 7.7 mg of caffeine, thus not causing the anxiety and nervousness that coffee drinkers may experience. It also calms the body with the help of its L-theanine and pyrazines. Great to drink after meals or in the evening after dinner.
