Matcha Seijou no Shiro - The Glow of White

Matcha Seijou no Shiro Marukyu-Koyamaen Japanese green tea 40 gr.

Matcha Seijou no Shiro by Marukyu-Koyamaen is also among the Matcha used in the prestigious Urasenke School. It is a bright tea, withlight tones and very delicate. It does not have an overly strong character and its flavor does not burst overbearingly; rather, it is perfectly balanced. It spreads gently in the mouth and leaves room for many interpretations.

The naming of this tea is a tribute to the brilliance (Seijo) and to thewhite color (Shiro). White which in Zen culture refers to mourning, but in its more positive meaning as the beginning of something greater and which recalls besides that, also purity. These are characters that we can partly find in this tea, a Matcha with a brilliant color and which represents the ideal starting point for those who approach the world of Matcha tea and everything related to it with seriousness and dedication.

Matcha Seijou no Shiro from Marukyu-Koyamaen is officially an Usucha, but thanks to its extremely light hues, it also turns out to be a very silky and delicate Koicha.

The Ceremonial Matcha differs from Matcha for culinary use in its suitability for the preparation of Usucha (more liquid and lighter) and Koicha (thicker and creamier). Matcha intended for this use must be elegant, delicate, and must have nuances that make the consumption of Matcha an 'unforgettable experience despite its considerable concentration.
So, what to expect from a ceremonial Matcha?
A full, silky flavor that fades and vanishes very slowly. A pleasant astringency, balanced perfectly by a natural, pronounced sweetness. Vibrant, electric, evergreen color. Prepared as Usucha or Koicha its texture and surface foam are elegant and irresistible. You can read our article to learn more about the different categories of Matcha.
