The leaves of this Japanese green tea have an unusual dark brown color, due to the roasting process, which does not trigger oxidation, but reduces the fleece of theine in the tea.
The amount of theine (or caffeine) is also low because this tea is made from the largest leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant, those located lower down.
It is characterizedby hints of cocoa bean and cereal, which give it a sweet note, well balanced with the vegetable component.
Great for drinking throughout the day, especially at breakfast as a substitute for coffee.
Recommended during and after meals, paired with fish fries, but also with dried fruit desserts.
The production of this tea involvestwo roasting stages: the first in an oven, and the second with the use of sand. After roasting, the leaves are aired so that the sand is removed. The use of sand allows the heat to be evenly distributed, during roasting. This results in a tea with a balanced aroma.
