In Anhui county, China, this red tea (black tea) Keemun, also known as Qimen, is embellished with the addition of osmanthus flowers, to achieve a uniform and totally natural fragrance, without the addition of artificial flavors or essential oils.
Tea leaves and osmanthus flowers are combined during the drying phase, for a duration of about three hours, until the osmanthus oxidizes.
This procedure is repeated several more times, using new flowers, until the leaves absorb their fragrance. From the dried leaves it is possible to recognize aromas of osmanthus, dried fruit, lotus seeds and honey.
A tea with a delicate fruity aroma, reminiscent of apricot, plum, with hints of honey and toasted dried fruit.
A pleasant gift to indulge in during the Fall and Winter season.
