DESCRIPTION
The chasen is the bamboo whisk used in the Japanese tea ceremony and is used to mix hot water with matcha inside the cup to form a beautiful thick foam on the surface.
It is made by incising a bamboo cane with which bones are made, which are used precisely to create the surface foam.
To make a good matcha just follow these steps:
- Stir the matcha powder and pour it into the bottom of the cup
- Pour some hot water (80°C) and with firm movements begin to draw an "m" on the bottom of the cup with the whisk
- Add the remaining water and continue stirring with the whisk until a nice foam has formed on the surface
We recommend soaking the whisk in warm water before use: this will make the bristles softer, preventing them from breaking.
After use, rinse the blender under water and rest it upside down on the ceramic stand: this will prevent water stagnation and the bristles of the blender will maintain their enlarged shape over time.
