Matcha Starter Set

Dhyāna - Natural Leaf Tea
DESCRIPTION

The Matcha Starter Set is a kit dedicated to those who want to getclose to the fascinating world of Matcha, Japan's most famous green tea, while savoring an excellent ceremonial-grade matcha.

In detail, this box contains:

  • 1 30g can of Ceremonial Grade Matcha from organic cultivation
  • 1 Japanese Ceramic Matcha Mug (chawan)
  • 1 bamboo measuring cup for the powder of matcha

Matcha takes the form of a finecolored jade green powder that is obtained by slowlygrinding stone dried tea leaves. The ceremonial matcha featured in the box was produced in Japan in Kagoshima Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu: this is one of the most important tea-growing regions in Japan.

its taste is truly unique: vegetal, but also sweet and soft. And above all humami:a taste flavorful and rich that wraps the mouth. Matcha is prized for its beneficial properties, in fact it is rich in antioxidants, chlorophyll and amino acids, but also in caffeine-in fact it is used as a physical stimulant in place of coffee.

The matcha mug or chawan features a wide, flat bottom that allows for good stirring of the whisk you use to prepare it. The brightness of your colors will bring out even more of the beauty of the foam that forms on the surface of the matcha.

The bamboo scoop or chashaku features the typical curved shape that is used to scoop and dose the matcha powder. One scoop corresponds to 1-1.5 g of matcha.

The traditional preparation of matcha involves using a bamboo whisk: if you don't already have one, you can find it here. Alternatively, you can also use an electric blender, although it is not exactly the orthodox method (!).

To prepare a good matcha just follow these steps:

    • Stir the matcha powder and pour it into the bottom of the cup
    • Pour some hot water (80°C) into the cup
    • With firm movements begin to draw an "m" on the bottom of the cup with the bamboo whisk; alternatively use the electric whisk
    • Add the remaining water and continue stirring with the whisk until a nice foam has formed on the surface

    Good matcha tea.
