Darjeeling Margaret's Hope FTGFOP1 Second Flush - Black Tea
Indian black tea, grown at the famous Margaret's Hope garden, located in the Kurseong Valley bordering the Himalayan mountain range. Harvested late, it consists of brownish autumn leaves and fresh green shoots, which give the tea a more diverse bouquet. In infusion it develops a dark, amber color and a medium-bodied, smooth flavor with muscatel, floral and fruity notes. Excellent with a squeeze of lemon during an afternoon tea break.
This tea plantation is named after the daughter of the original founder. During the 1930s, the garden was owned by Mr. English Bagdon and his youngest daughter named Margaret, fell in love with the garden. Unfortunately, she became ill on the ship during the return trip to England and died shortly after, so Her father overcome with grief, renamed his estate to honor the memory of his daughter and her love for the land.
