Tea Soul
DESCRIPTION

The Snow Dragon Wu Liang Organic Green Tea, rich in buds and tender apical leaves, transports us to a lush forest with its aroma: it has a refreshing, sweet and vegetal taste, a silky body and a rather complex aromatic range. It is definitely a tea of unique delicacy and refinement. This organic tea comes from Zhengwan village, in the famous Puer Autonomous Province.

Tasting - Sight and Smell

Snow Dragon Wu Liang organic green tea presents itself to the eye with a very high percentage of silvery-white buds, covered with soft bai hao that makes them look like velvet. The leaves are forest green and silver in color, medium in size, delicately rolled and sometimes curled to resemble the shape of small ringlets. Once infused, they give off very sweet aromas of corn, bamboo, steamed carrots and fresh broad beans, with some faint floral hints and fresh, herbaceous notes at the close. In the cup, the liquor is pale gold in color, bright and transparent.

Tasting Notes

GONG FU CHA

The first infusion of Snow Dragon Wu Liang organic green tea surprises with its sweetness: vegetal notes of sweet corn, garden carrots and zucchini, pumpkin puree, and baby peas. A shy floral note also emerges, reminiscent of rosewater. With the second infusion, the notes become more assertive: baked squash, pan-fried carrots, and a hint of light roastiness that recalls nuts such as almonds and peanuts. In contrast, the third infusion brings out more herbaceous and very fresh notes, like cut grass and lettuce. There is only a slight astringency on the finish, while the persistence remains herbal and fresh. Interesting is the beeswax note that can be detected on the nose by sniffing the bottom cup.

TO THE WEST

The first notes of Snow Dragon Wu Liang organic green tea have an intense sweetness reminiscent of baked pumpkin, sweet corn, and pan-fried carrots. These early hints then evolve into fresher vegetable notes of edamame and lettuce, and again into light floral notes, adding to the freshness and refinement of this tea. The body is light and silky: a sugary note and a delicate hint of acacia honey remain on the palate, lingering for a long time.

Preparation

We strongly recommend infusing organic green tea Snow Dragon Wu Liang in the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to enjoy these leaves at their best. Following this preparation, 3 grams of leaves(about 2 teaspoons) can be used in a gaiwan of about 100 ml to obtain multiple infusions with different tastes. After a quick rinse of the leaves in water at 95°C you can proceed with an initial infusion of 10 seconds and, after that, keeping the water at the same temperature, proceed with multiple infusions increasing the time each time by 5 seconds (10 - 15 - 20 ...).

For a classic preparation according to the Western style we recommend 2 grams of leaves(about 1 teaspoon) in a 150 ml cup with water at 95°C for an infusion time of one and a half minutes.

The tea can be filtered for ease when tasting and also the infusion times given above here are meant to be purely indicative so you can also adjust according to your personal taste.

We recommend storing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
