Tea Soul
DESCRIPTION

Each serving of Ebiological Puer Shu (cooked) Tea Wu Liang Origin is 4g, the perfect amount for a single infusion. Its aromas remind us of an autumn forest, moist earth after rain and undergrowth, while the taste surprises with its sweetness and velvety smoothness on the palate. This organic tea comes from Zhengwan village, in the famous Puer Autonomous Province.

Tasting - Sight and Smell

Su Wu Liang Origin organic puer tea comes in small, thin, single-serving square pods composed of compressed leaves with color shades ranging from dark brown to coppery brown and a high presence of rust-gold buds. Once infused in water, the wafer softens rather quickly, leaving the leaves free to dance in the water. The aromas are complex and enveloping: hints of leather, a hint of empyreumatic, hints of damp earth, wet leaves and wood, with a hint of fennel and a balsamic note on the finish. In the cup, the liquor is dark brown tending to coffee, rather impenetrable to light and with some faint orange reflections.

Tasting Notes

GONG FU CHA
The first infusion of organic puer tea shu Wu Liang Origin surprises with its sweetness and offers hints of wood, leather and a peaty note reminiscent of whiskey. The finish has a bitter cocoa note with a fruity undertone, while the aftertaste tastes of licorice and coffee. With the second brew, the body of the tea becomes thicker and more enveloping: notes of coffee but without bitterness and an earthy sweetness that brings to mind potato skins. There is also a hint of aromatic tobacco with a vanilla note at the close. The third and several subsequent infusions bring to light the incredible smoothness this tea offers on the palate. The leather note already present in the first infusion becomes predominant here, along with a very persistent vanilla sweetness. On the finish, hints of undergrowth tie in with notes of bitter cocoa.
TO THE WEST
The organic puer tea shu Wu Liang Origin opens with forest notes: bark and humus are recognizable, while a note of fennel appears in the second, followed by hints of licorice wood and coffee. The woody note then evolves into barrel wood and notes emerge that are almost reminiscent of a slightly peaty whiskey. The finish has delicate notes of leather and an elusive note of dark chocolate. The body is very soft and enveloping, of medium density and without a trace of bitterness or astringency.

Preparation

We strongly recommend infusing organic puer tea shu Wu Liang Origin in the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to enjoy these leaves at their best. Following this preparation, you can put one square in a gaiwan of about 100 ml to obtain multiple infusions with different tastes. After a short preliminary rinse at 100°C to start separating the leaves well from their compressed form, one can proceed with an initial infusion of 10 seconds, and after that, keeping the water at the same temperature, one can proceed by increasing the time each time by 5 seconds from the previous infusion (10 - 15 - 20...)

This tea has a longevity of about 7 infusions.

For a classic preparation according to the Western style we recommend a square in a 200 ml cup with water at 100°C for an infusion time of two minutes. However, it would be preferable to do a prior rinse of about 15 seconds to make the most of the flavors of the leaves.

The tea can be filtered for ease when tasting and also the infusion times given above here are meant to be purely indicative so you can also adjust according to your personal taste.

It is recommended to store in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
