Puer Shu (cooked) Organic Tea Wu Liang Legend 2021 250gr

Tea Soul
DESCRIPTION

The brick of Organic Puer Shu (cooked) Tea Wu Liang Legend 2021 has a smooth and sweet taste, reminiscent of underbrush notes. In the cup it is clear and a beautiful bright red color. This puer shu is a Mao Cha undergoing an accelerated fermentation process: using this process, it takes about 2-3 years to obtain a high-quality puer tea. During these years the bitterness, stiffness of the leaves, and the smell and taste of mold that permeate the leaf leave it completely.Few, in fact, know that the taste we perceive in tea is influenced not only by the quality of the leaf and harvest period, but also by little-known factors, such as bacterial culture, organization of fermentation, etc.

The Wu Liang Legend 2021 shares with most puer teas a distinctive fermented flavor, with hints of moist earth, despite having a relatively short fermentation time, which began in 2019. Our advice for this tea, being quite young, is to set it aside at least two years to give it time to mature and age.

This organic tea comes from Zhengwan village in the famous Puer Autonomous Province.

Tasting - Sight and Smell

Puer Shu Wu Liang Legend 2021 tea comes in brick form with pressed leaves of various shades of brown, from the darkest brown to light brown. Once infused, the leaves smell of damp earth, wet wood with hints of anise. In the cup, the color is a deep red with amber highlights, incredibly clear for a puer shu tea.

Tasting Notes

GONG FU CHA

The first infusion of puer shu tea Wu Liang Legend 2021 is sweet, with hints of anise and fennel quite distinct. Already with the second infusion the body becomes thicker and we find notes of leather and almost camphor. These hints remain in the third and subsequent infusions: the leather notes become more intense and hints of humus and sweetness are still more noticeable, enveloping the palate and lingering.

TO THE WEST

The first sip of puer Shu Wu Liang Legend 2021 tea has wild fennel as its first distinctive note, followed by a marked sweetness with slight hints of anise. Notes of undergrowth arrive later, with hints of damp wood and wet earth. Ultimately, hints of leather and strong camphorate notes remain on the palate, closing in a long, sweet persistence, devoid of astringency or bitterness.

Preparation

We strongly recommend infusing pu puer tea Shu Wu Liang Legend 2021 in the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to best enjoy these leaves. Following this preparation, 4 grams of leaves (about 3 teaspoons) can be used in a gaiwan of about 100 ml to make several infusions with different tastes. After a quick rinse of the leaves in water at 100°C, one can proceed with an initial infusion of 10 seconds and, after that, keeping the water at the same temperature, proceed with multiple infusions increasing the time each time by 5 seconds (10 - 15 - 20 ...)

This tea has a longevity of about 5 infusions.

For a classic preparation according to the Western style we recommend 2 grams of leaves (about 1 teaspoon) in a 150 ml cup with water at 100°C for an infusion time of one and a half minutes.
