Oolong Peach Tea

Tea Soul
DESCRIPTION

The high level of oxidation of Peach Oolong Tea gives it a smooth and intense taste in its sweetness, so much so that in many ways it is reminiscent of red tea. The most surprising feature, however, is the flavoring process with natural peach essence, which makes this tea pleasant to drink both cold and hot.

The amber liqueur caresses the taste buds with fruity and sweet, slightly roasted notes, without the creamy notes of Taiwan oolong being overpowered or hidden by the peach essence. It is a perfectly balanced blend that enhances each aroma and taste component.

Tasting - Sight and Smell

The Peach oolong tea leaves are clustered rather tightly and small in size, with colors ranging from brown to brown with some ochre tips. The peach aroma is already discernible, although the explosion of aromas occurs by infusing the leaves in water and letting them open as you go: notes of peach, roasted and mineral notes, hints of cookie and dark bread crust, and a vague and surprising hint of milk chocolate on the finish are thus released. The liqueur in the cup is orange-amber, bright and rich with beautiful golden hues.

Tasting Notes

GONG FU CHA

The first infusion of Peach oolong tea has fruity notes of yellow peach and sweet hints: it reveals itself velvety on the palate with a sustained, creamy body even with the first infusion. With the second infusion, the tea notes emerge in addition to the peach: sweet and biscuity notes, malty hints, and a nutty finish, with a triumph of pecans and almonds. With the third and subsequent infusions, as the leaves open in the gaiwan, the character of the basic Taiwanese oolong becomes more and more clearly discernible: sweet, fruity (dried fruit), but also with some fleeting floral overtones and a sweetness of honey and creme caramel, enveloping and soft on the palate.

TO THE WEST

In the opening, Peach oolong tea has fruity notes of peach and sweet hints of honey that then evolve into notes of dried fruits, such as roasted almonds and nuts, as the oolong manifests its distinctive flavors. The creamier notes typical of gaoshan, reminiscent of a vaguely caramelized pudding or spoon cake, also appear as the body becomes increasingly dense and enveloping. A tea that has no bitterness or astringency and whose fruity, sweet persistence stays with us for a long time, with notes of honey and peach that linger pleasantly on the palate.

Method of infusing Oolong Peach Tea

We strongly recommend infusing Oolong Peach Tea in the traditional Chinese method (Gong Fu Cha) with a gaiwan with a capacity of about 150 ml. Following this preparation, multiple infusions can be made with 5 grams of leaves that are useful to best capture all the flavor nuances of the tea.

After briefly rinsing the leaves with water at a temperature of 85°C, proceed to an initial infusion of 30 seconds. Keeping the water at the same temperature, you can then continue to exploit the same leaves by adding more water and increasing the infusion time by 10 seconds each time (30-40-50...).

This tea has a longevity of 4 infusions.

For a more classic preparation in the Western style, we recommend 3 grams of leaves (about 2 teaspoons) in a 200 ml cup with water at 85°C for an infusion time of 3 minutes.

For a better tasting experience, we suggest that you strain the infusion as soon as the infusion time is over. Our suggested infusion timings, however, can also be slightly modified to your liking to achieve a more or less intense taste.

We recommend storing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Benefits of Oolong tea

The main benefits that can be derived from oolong teas stem from the significant content of mineral salts and antioxidant phenols in the leaves.

Some studies, in fact, report that daily intake of oolong tea can affect bone health by improving the concentration of minerals in this tissue and promote a decrease in blood sugar due to the stimulating effect of phenols on insulin.

Oolong teas also generally possess a low concentration of caffeine. This characteristic makes them suitable to be consumed at any time of the day, even by people who are more sensitive to this exciting substance.
