DESCRIPTION

The spicy blend of Green Tea, Ginger, and Lemongrass will comfort, warm, and revitalize your body to fight off winter influences. A warm embrace when you're cold! Thanks to the special properties of lemongrass and ginger, this drink is perfect for detoxification and digestion. In addition, the green tea leaves are sourced from fair trade and natural organic farming, with no artificial flavors or essential oils.

Tasting - Sight and Smell

Ginger and Lemongrass Green Tea features whole, dark green camellia leaves with the presence of a few silver buds, small in size, thin and rolled. Flakes of dried ginger and bits of lemongrass stems and leaves are also visible. Once infused, the blend releases sweet, crisp aromas, with the herbal notes of green tea and a hint of umami meeting the freshness of ginger, hints of mountain herbs, and a citrus note of lemongrass and lemon. In the cup, the liqueur is golden yellow, bright and intense.

Tasting Notes

GONG FU CHA
The first infusion of ginger and lemongrass green tea is delicate: the slightly spicy notes of ginger and the hint of lemongrass, fresh on the palate, are well perceived. The slightly vegetal note of the tea is shy but present, while it gains more intensity with subsequent infusions, bringing with it an umami that nicely balances the fresh, citrusy notes and a hint of verbena. With the last infusions, lemongrass explodes on the palate, giving a balsamic and very fresh sensation, which is accompanied by the slight spiciness of ginger and a pleasant aftertaste of lemon and lemon balm. The persistence is fresh and crisp on the tongue and palate, the body silky and light.

Preparation

We strongly recommend infusing this tea in the traditional Chinese method (Gong Fu Cha) with a gaiwan with a capacity of about 150 ml. Following this preparation, multiple infusions can be made with 5 grams of leaves that are useful to best capture all the flavor nuances of the tea.

Warm the water to a temperature of 80°C and proceed to an initial infusion of 20 seconds. Keeping the water at the same temperature, you can then continue to make use of the same leaves by adding more water and increasing the infusion time by 10 seconds (20-30-40...) each time.

For a more classic preparation according to the Western style we recommend 3 grams of leaves (about 2 teaspoons) in a 200 ml cup with water at 80°C for an infusion time of 3 minutes.

For a better tasting experience we suggest that you strain the infusion as soon as the infusion time is over. Our suggested infusion times, however, can also be slightly modified to your liking to achieve a more or less intense taste.

We recommend storing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
