Artist Aleš Dančák
"When I was a child, I never dreamed of becoming a potter or an artist, not at all. Rather, I spent my entire childhood, adolescence and part of my adulthood looking for what I would like. And I eventually found it. I was lucky."
Frequenting the same school of ceramists that his father had attended, Ales approached a workshop in Oznice, in the Vsetín region where he learned casting and mold making.
And it was here that Aleš Dančák learned a completely manual method of working: he began to create vases, bowls, trays, taxes and teapots that, thanks to production at very high temperatures, take on distinctive colors that are completely different from industrially made products. Non-conventional, rather unique colors.
