Titled Secha Shogun Aged Midori.
This aged sencha is very popular with lovers of delicate "round" flavors.
Freshly harvested sencha from the spring harvest is sealed in special containers after processing and the tea is left to age in a cool place for one year. The ripening completely removes the astringency and brings out the roundness that is (not only) highly valued in Japan. The Japanese term for these aged teas is Kuradashi and as an interesting fact, the famous warlord Hideyoshi was one of their fans.
If you have not tasted any kuradashi tea, we definitely recommend it.
This sencha is sourced exclusively from naturally managed plantations of the Kinezuka family.
