TEA TRIBES & Co
DESCRIZIONE

Selma Amira is a Tunisian-born ceramist who works in Village Saint-Paul (Le Marais, Paris IVème). She decided to create exceptional mugs and cups especially for TEA TRIBES, made here and inspired elsewhere.

From various conversations and tastings with Jean-Luc, our founder, Selma came up with this herbal tea bowl. Or rather, these herbal tea bowls, for each piece is unique, made entirely by hand.

To find out more about Selma's work, her background, her talent no doubt: go to the blog article that belongs to her.

As for these bowls, so pleasing both to the eye and to the touch, they are made of rakumitsu stoneware, which is a fine chamotte white stoneware. They are turned and fired at the AMIRA-Ceramics workshop in Village Saint-Paul. The glaze is food-grade Céradel, fired at 1220 degrees.

Their creation grew out of what TEA TRIBES told Selma and inspired her to do: stories of peoples who, like her own, share ancestral practices of tasting beneficial beverages. The shape of a bowl seemed obvious to Selma, wide open and inviting to share.
