Tea in Motion
DESCRIPTION

Mild tea from the high mountains.

Jun Chiabari is a young, small, exclusive tea garden, from brothers Lochan and Bachan.

Jun Chiyabari is located in the eastern Himalayan mountains, around the mountains of Hile in the Dhankuta district. Initial planting began in 2001.

The tea garden is located at an altitude of 1600- 2000 meters and of the 75 acres, 50 acres have been planted. In the coming years, the remaining 25 acres will be planted. Jun Chiabari is known for its orthodox tea to which a unique character is given in taste and aroma by the soil in which the tea plant grows and the climate. Of course, the qualities of the teamaster are also very important here.

The tea gardens are located between the Jungle of the Terai lowlands (400m high) and the world's highest mountain (8848m high) about 115 km away. You can imagine how many different micro climates are in between here!

The warm air from the south and the cold air from the north mean that the tea gardens are often in fog which are good conditions for the growth of the tea plant!

One of the characteristics of this tea garden is to be part of the local community. It employs more than 200 people (mostly women).

There is a program to help local schools with books , computers, and salary contributions for teachers. Girls from underprivileged families are also supported to attend school.

There is also an old people's home for the elderly who no longer have a "home. This is supported with food and clothing.

A project to restore a very dilapidated school in a remote corner of the tea area is currently underway. This is a government school that primarily caters to children from the lowest income families. By buying tea from this tea garden, you are helping a little to support these children.
